CasaF-AIR is a new independent Artist In Residence project organized by CasaFredda, where architects & hosts Michela and Sergio share the desire to develop an environment nurturing imagination, encouraging at the same time talent & artistic production in their Tuscan lavender farm.
Each year, from September till June, selected artists are invited to Casafredda for a free stay of 1 to 4 weeks, accordingly with the complexity of the proposed project.
The program aims to provide artists, writers and photographers from around the world with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of the genuine lifestyle of rural Tuscany, finding inspiration for their artistic projects.
The interaction and the spirit of mutual cooperation between artists, hosts, guests, and the local community is what makes CasaF-AIR a very special farmhouse experience.
During their stay, CasaF-AIR successful applicants can hold workshops with/for other guests and artists staying at the farmhouse, local residents or their own students, participate in cultural events, meet local artists and artisans, and hold open study days, round tables and classes.
The program does not benefit from public funding and is entirely financed and privately supported by Casafredda, which rents its flexible spaces to artists and travelers looking for a creative and genuinely welcoming environment, ranging from rooms and private apartments for solo travelers to the option of the whole villa for leaded workshops & retreats
